    Investigación soberana para el buen gobierno en salud. Desafíos y oportunidades.

    Resumen:La pandemia de COVID-19 ha revelado profundas desigualdades en el acceso a la salud y ha reavivado el debate sobre la necesidad de fortalecer la soberanía sanitaria en América Latina. Este artículo explora el concepto de Investigación Soberana en Salud (ISS) como una estrategia clave para promover el buen gobierno en salud en la región. Se argumenta que, para alcanzar una soberanía sanitaria real, es crucial que los países latinoamericanos desarrollen investigaciones adaptadas a sus contextos locales, apoyadas por políticas públicas autónomas y equitativas. El artículo aborda tres aspectos fundamentales: la definición de investigación para un buen gobierno en salud, la importancia de esta para la política sanitaria, y los desafíos de implementar una investigación alineada con las necesidades y capacidades de los países del Sur. A través de esta reflexión, se busca contribuir a la construcción de sistemas de salud más resilientes y sostenibles en América Latina, capaces de garantizar el derecho a la salud para toda su población.Palabras clave: Soberanía Sanitaria - Investigación en salud - América Latina SummaryThe COVID-19 pandemic has revealed deep inequalities in the access to health care and has reignited as well the debate on the need to strengthen health sovereignty in Latin America. This paper explores the concept of Sovereign Health Research (SHR) as a key strategy to promote good governance in health in the region. It argues that, to achieve true health sovereignty, it is crucial for Latin American countries to develop research tailored to their local contexts, supported by autonomous and equitable public policies. The paper addresses three fundamental aspects: the definition of research for good governance in health, its importance for health policy, and the challenges of implementing research aligned with the needs and capacities of countries in the Global South. Through this reflection, the aim is to contribute to building more resilient and sustainable health systems in Latin America and, furthermore, able to guarantee the right to health for all its population.Key words: Health Sovereignty; Health Research; Latin America.
