Item type: Item , Nuevos registros de aves en Vallegrande, Santa Cruz, Bolivia(2022) Miguel Montenegro-Ávila; W. Sergio Pantoja; Anahi C. Paca-Condori; Paola Velásquez‐NoriegaIn Bolivia there are many information gaps on bird biodiversity, with the development of new research and exploration of sites in recent years, new records and expansion of distribution of many bird species have been found. During the bird surveys in the Huertamayo locality of the Vallegrande province, we recorded four species of birds that are little known for the department of Santa Cruz, where the distribution of the Leque Leque Andino (or Tero Serrano; Vanellus resplendens), Yaka Yaka (or Andean Woodpecker; Colaptes rupicola), Plumbian Fringe (or Plumbian Yal; Geopizopsis unicolor) in the department, and the first record of Grey-bellied Muleteer (or Brown Gaucho; Agriornis micropterus) was reported, these reports contribute to the knowledge of the distribution of the bird life in the country.Item type: Item , Registros notables del Flamenco Chileno (<i>Phoenicopterus chilensis</i>) en el departamento de Santa Cruz, Bolivia(2023) J. Luis Martínez; Romer S. Miserendino; W. Sergio Pantoja; Nicole A. Avalos; Miguel Montenegro-Ávila; Anahi C. Paca-CondoriIn Bolivia, the Chilean Flamingo, Tokoko or Parina (Phoenicopterus chilensis), is one of the most common and widely distributed flamingos. It is present in the departments of La Paz, Oruro, Potosí, Tarija and Cochabamba. In 2016 and 2022, we found three individuals in Laguna Pirirenda and Laguna Tatarenda, located in the Chaco Serrano ecoregion of the department of Santa Cruz. We found one adult and couple (male and female) in each lagoon, respectively. These are new reports for the species in the department of Santa Cruz and the Chaco Serrano ecoregion; thus, these observations expand this species distribution in the country.
