---------------------------------------- Acerola, because of its undeniable potential as one of the best natural sources of vitamin C, has acquired great importance in the pharmaceutical industry. The objective of the present work was to validate an analytical method by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to determine the ascorbic acid (vitamin C) content in aqueous extract of Acerola ( Malpighia glabra L), applicable to quality control and stability study. The validation of the analytical method was performed by evaluating the parameters of specificity, linearity, accuracy and precision. The stability study was carried out for six months on three lots of aqueous extract of Acerola obtained at laboratory level, packed in plastic and glass bottles, stored at room temperature 30 ± 2 ° C and 70 ± 5% moisture relative. The results obtained in the validation of the method were adequate. The results of the study, allowed demonstrating the stability of the aqueous extract of Acerola. The validated method was specific, linear, accurate and precise in the range of concentrations studied. The results obtained evidenced the stability of the same during the time evaluated, in the two containers used, without significant differences. Keywords: Acerola, Aqueous extract, Ascorbic acid, High Resolution Liquid Chromatography, Validation, Stability study.
