    SUMMARY A method based in neural networks is proposed to estimate the location of mobile phones in emergency situations. The approach to the problem is probed under different communication channels such as multiple paths and lost paths, as well as under critical geometry mobile positions with respect to the base station of the network cell company. The performance is determined by comparison with standards methods and its possible application in Venezuela is analyzed. RESUMO Propoe-se um metodo para estimar a localizacao de dispositivos moveis realizando chamadas em situacao de emergencia baseado em redes neuronais artificiais. A solucao proposta e submetida a prova ante diferentes canais de comunicacao, tais como canal de multiples trajetorias e canal de perda por recorrido, assim como tambem ante situacoes de geometria criticas de posicao do dispositivo movel em relacao as antenas radio base da rede celular, medindo seu desempenho ao compara-la com os metodos tradicionais e analisando a possivel aplicacao destes sistemas de localizacao de chamadas celulares na Venezuela.
