    Diseño de una unidad didáctica para la enseñanza de la física a nivel universitario

    This article aims to propose the model of a Didactic Unit (DU) based on competences, designed to teach the topic of sound; which seeks to achieve meaningful learning in students at university level. The participants of this research were Venezuelan students of the career of Education, studying the subject Physics from Nucleo Rafael Rangel of Los Andes University. The modality of the research is a feasible project, in which a DU was built and applied. For validation, T student tests were used in a quasi-experimental design with control group (CG) and experimental group (EG). An instrument composed of 15 items to assess the knowledge related to the theme of sound was applied. The results showed the efficiency provided by the DU, breaking with the traditional pattern of merely lectures and promoting the achievement of the expected competencies through a contextualized learning. It is concluded that the use of DU based on competences is an effective and innovative tool in the area of science, specifically physics, promoting active participation in class as well as meaningful learning.

    El servicio comunitario desde la perspectiva del estudiante del núcleo universitario Rafael Rangel de la Universidad de Los Andes, Trujillo

    Considering the role of the university student in the Community Service activity, in this work was investigated the opinion of students of the Rafael Rangel Faculty, University of the Andes about their experience during the induction and execution of Community Service. For the study was applied to a sample of 516 students, in the final period of performance or with the activity culminated, a questionnaire of 15 items that assess the opinion of students on the academic side and the instrumental aspect, in addition to an item asking about satisfaction in project implementation. The results indicate that student opinion is, in general, moderately favorable, better assessing their service than the learning they get from it. Notwithstanding the aforementioned, the students expressed concern about the continuity of their project in the community and say that it is an activity that they find onerous. It can be concluded that to improve the student’s opinion regarding the implementation of the Community Service, this activity should ensure the consolidation of the achievements of their projects and institutional support that minimizes costs to be filled by the students for the development of the Community Service activity.
