Difusión convectiva en capilares cilíndricos conductores
(1986) María E. Lago; Florencio P. Plachco; G Oswaldo Romero
A mathematical model of the convective diffusion process has been studied theoretically and tested in the laboratory. The process takes place when the flow of an electrolytic fluid circulates through a cylindrical conductive capillary. A wide range of the applied electrical potential was used. The theoretical results allow the formulation of criteria for the operation and design of the cylindrical porous electrodes.

Common expressions for potential and resistance of linear electrodes in bi-stratified soils involve calculations with infinite series. The speed of convergence of these series depends on the K reflection factor associated with the resistivities of the surface and lower layer of the soil. Infinite series emerge as a consequence of the inversion from the spectral domain where algebraic solution of the problem is found. The proposed exponential approximation allows direct inversion from the spectral domain avoiding infinite series.

Mass transfer influence on fueL cell pouer. In the present work, the influence of Mass Transfer in the functioning of a Fuel Cell H2-O (HOK 6M) designed by our study group is studied With the aim of helping the ionic Mass Transfer and the maximum profit in the use of the electrocatalyst, it is proposed to dissolve the reactives (H2 and O2 ) in the alkaline electrolyte (HOK 6M) by means of individual bubling in countercurrent before the reactives arrive to the respective cell s compartment. The flow of the electrolite is modified in a wide range. Also the posibility of applying external ultrasonic vibrations is studied. The results of the experimental study show that the greatest obstacle was found in the ionic Mass Transfer of the reactives to the surface of the electrodes.
