    From a hexane extract of avocado pulp (Persea americana Mill.), an 1:3 mixture of 2-(heptadec-16- enyl)- and 2-(heptadec-16-ynyl)-4-hydroxy-tetrahydrofurans was characterized by NMR techniques. These compounds have not been previously reported from natural sources.

    Síntesis y caracterización espectroscópica del cloruro de oleoilo

    Oleoyl chloride was synthetized using a recently distilled at reduced pressure oleic acid and thionyl chloride as starting materials. Acyl halide was vacuum distilled and later on characterized by FTIR, 1 H-RMN and 13 C- RMN spectroscopy. Additional experiments of 1 H-COSY, HSQC and HMQC were carried out, which allowed to assign unquestionably the structure of the synthesized material. Keywords: oleoyl chloride, oleic acid, 1 H-
