Introduction: Laboratories in the biopharmaceutical industry where biological agents are handled require personnel trained in biosafety. Objective: Evaluate a biosafety training strategy for students inserted in the microbiology laboratory of Liorad Laboratories Base Business Unit. Methods: The 20 students included in the laboratory were selected as the population, which coincides with the sample. Methods of the theoretical level such as documentary analysis, modeling and systematization were used. From the empirical level, the methods applied were: experiential, initial diagnosis, guide for documentary review, observation and Iadov's satisfaction technique. Descriptive statistics were also used. The practical verification was made through observation and the Iadov technique. The biosafety training of the students inserted in the laboratory was identified as a dependent variable, from which three dimensions and nine indicators were derived, concluding with an inventory of problems and potentialities. Results: The training strategy was structured in four stages with objectives. The methods used facilitated the design and execution of the proposed strategy. The observation showed significant changes in the knowledge acquired in biosafety in the students. Iadov's technique showed the satisfaction of the students with the training received. The satisfaction of the laboratory management with the proposed strategy was evidenced Conclusions: The training strategy developed allows to improve the professional performance in biosafety of the students included in the microbiology laboratory of Liorad Laboratories Base Business Unit.
