In Endodontics, the technology has been giving multiple proposals in recent years, always with the aim of enabling the clinical success. Specifically, it allows a root canal treatment to provide an effective cleaning, shaping, sealed, using a simple, quick and convenient method for both the operator and patient. Many root canal preparation systems have been widely studied. However, the revision of the literature suggests that there is not a document that collects this information. Therefore, this article descibe the effectiveness of three root canal preparation systems, Protaper, K3 and Profile. This will allow the clinicians and students, the appropriate selection and use of these systems of preparation, as they are the most widely used and recommended nowadays. To achieve this purpose, it conducted a systematic review of the literature in electronic and printed media related to the above mentioned systems. We find that the Protaper system is more effective to prepare root canals with high effectiveness of cut, resistance to cyclic fatigue and does not create apical transportation thus maintaining the integrity of the canal, K3 only confers resistance to fatigue and flexibility in their instruments thus becoming the second option at the time of choosing an Instrumentation System and only Profile has cut effectiveness propiety, which makes it less quality in comparison with the two systems mentioned above. This could encourage and stimulate students and dentists in training, to carry out studies of cut qualitative to explore with greater depth, all mechanical systems mentioned and their direct influences on the root canal anatomies of each dentary group.
