(Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, 2017) Martin Flégl; María Bertha Fortoul Ollivier; V Svec; Jennie Brand Barajas; Christian Vizuet
La Salle University México (La Salle) uses an internal system of professors’ evaluation, which main purpose is to evaluate professors’ performance and secure high quality of teaching at all of its faculties. Since its inception in 2010, La Salle has obtained 517,635 individual evaluations of 45,346 courses. However, no additional analysis of the obtained results has ever been done. This article provides introductory analysis of the accumulated results at faculty level. The main objective is to analyze whether there are differences between faculties regarding the evaluation. Although the results are highly skewed towards the maximal evaluation at all faculties, there are statistically significant differences. The next important task is to investigate what factors influence the evaluation. Moreover, as this is the introductory analysis, the article concludes with possible future steps that should be consider regarding eventual structural changes in the evaluation system.

(2019) Andrea Jiménez Monterrubio; Regina Ramirez Sainz; Juan Manuel Zaragoza Ziranda; Martin Flégl
Coffee is considered as a global exporting and importing goods. In total, there are approximately 80 countries producing coffee, where Brazil, as the biggest coffee producer, produces around 6,000 million pounds of coffee every year. In this article, we analyze productivity of the 30 biggest coffee producers based on Data Envelopment Analysis. The results show that Brazil, Vietnam and Colombia are the only 100% efficient countries. The average efficiency of all countries is 22.631% with SD 30.115%. Mexico belongs among the inefficient countries, as its efficiency is 14.907%. With a post-projection analysis, Mexico should increase its production (measured by pounds per year) by 6.69 times or increase the production potential from each hectare.

Nowadays, talent management is crucial for organizations to remain competitive and successful. Organizations must pay higher attention to a training of their employees to attract highly skilled talents. However, due to high costs of training programs, organizations need to control and demonstrate their added value. In this case, it is very important to understand employees’ characteristics to create adequate training program systems. In this article, we analyze employees’ preferences over training programs in a Mexican public financial institution. Further, we seek to discover whether training program popularity is reflected in improvements of employees’ competences. The results indicate that female training policies should be linked more to soft skills training, whereas training policies for males should be linked more to hard skills. Results also indicate that there is no relationship between training course preferences and employees’ performance and the effect is near to zero or negative.
