Asia y la Conferencia de Bandung
    (2016) Norbert Molina Medina
The Bandung Conference (April 1955) embodied the desire and need of the Afro-Asian peoples, newly decolonized, by setting a neutral position before the new conflict known as the Cold War (1947-1991), led by the two big power blocks: the United States and the former Soviet Union. In that sense, we analyze the historical context that gave rise to the participation of Asian people–mainly from the South, East and Southeast Asia–its main protagonists and the contributions derived from that call in favor of political, economic and cultural cooperation.

El 11 de septiembre de 2001. Medios de comunicación: Deformidad y conciencia histórica
    (2008) Norbert Molina Medina
Abstract Transnational News chains no doubt provided ample coverage to the terrorist attacks that occurred in the North-American towns of New York, Washington and Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001. Nevertheless, their treatment of the information has been the object of bitter criticisms. The author reviews the information about the event given by some worldwide and LatinAmerican media in search for the elements that have turned this unfortunate event into a source of disinformation.

La inmigración china en Venezuela (1850-1960)
    (2022) Norbert Molina Medina
One of the great historiographical gaps about Venezuela is the one that corresponds to migrations of Asian origin. Of these, the Chinese one began in the middle of the 19th century and although of marginal presence in comparison with other Latin American experiences such as the Brazilian, Peruvian or Mexican, its importance began to increase with the new century. Not exempt from difficulties, the sons of the Middle Kingdom had to face legislation that prevented them from remaining in the country, persecution by the authorities and the lack of diplomatic representation to defend them. In spite of this, those who managed to stay undertook different economic activities in a territory that welcomed them with distrust. The other related aspect is that such immigration led to the Chinese government's interest in establishing relations with the South American nation, which were formalized in 1943. These are the reasons that encourage us to reflect on Chinese immigration to Venezuela.

Las relaciones diplomáticas Venezuela - África (1950-1968)
    (2010) Norbert Molina Medina

    (2016) Norbert Molina Medina
Venezuela - China relations date from 1943. Since then until 1974, we place thefirst stage of dialogues with mainland China, which will then have its epicenterin Taiwan given the triumph of the communist revolution and the provisionaltransfer of the nationalist government to Taipei (1949). With the entry of thePeople's Republic of China to the UN (1971), as well as its rapprochement withthe US, most Latin American countries broke with Taiwan and normalized theirrelations with Beijing. In the Venezuelan case, it happened on June 28, 1974; thus, our objective is to analyze this second stage of Sino-Venezuelan relations.
