Hidrogeomorfología y geotecnia del macizo rocoso de la estación de Pico Espejo (4765 msnm)- Sistema teleférico de Mérida, Venezuela Hydrogeomorphology and geotechnics of the rocky massif of the Pico Espejo station (4765 m.) – Cable car system in Mérida, Venezuela.

A hydrogeomorphological and geotechnical diagnosis and evaluation of the north faces of the Pico Espejo´s Station (section K1-K4) and, in general, of the geological conditions of the rocky substrate of the Pico Espejo´s station, this corresponds to the fifth station in the system. Cable car located in the jurisdiction of the Libertador Municipality, Merida state - Venezuela, in order to determine the geological and geotechnical conditions of the Pico Espejo´s station substrate, through the application of non-invasive geophysical methods (GPR - Ground Penetration Radar and Environmental Seismic Noises), geomechanical evaluation of the rock mass and geochemistry (natural stable isotopes of water). The integration of the results allowed recognizing a continuous process of water infiltration at the level of fresh and fractured rock at depths of up to 4 m., With potential geotechnical instability of the substrate due to loss of cohesion and resistance of the rock mass.
