The plasma rich in fibrin (PRF) is a modification with respect to the traditional prepared of PRP, they have regenerative properties of human tissues. Several techniques have been used to observe the ultrastructure of biological compounds, one of them is the scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The objective of the research was to analyze three methods of dewatering the PRF for the ultrastructural study by SEM. The fibrin clot was sectioned in three parts and the samples were subjected to a process of dehydration in the following way: absorbent paper (sample 1), immersion in acetone (sample 2) and immersion in ethanol (sample 3), the plate with the samples was introduced into an Ion Coater for 100 seconds, because makes the surface of the fibrin conductive, after this the samples were introduced in the electronic microscope. The treatment of dewatering to the sample 1 showed a better organization of the fibres without evidence of structural damage compared to the sample 3 whose fibres acquired a flattened shape that might suggest a state of degradation and very different from the treatment to the sample 2 in where it was observed a drastic reduction of the size of the fibres. The results show that there is better structure when the sample is subjected to less aggressive treatment of dewatering and preserved in its entirety the structural integrity and all cell components present.
