    Incidencia de las Anomalías Anorrectales en Pacientes del Hospital Universitario De Los Andes. 1982-1994

    A study of 60 case histories was done in the Service of Medical Histories of the University Hospital of the Andes and of the Urban Ambulatory Hospital Type II “Venezuela” in Merida, Venezuela, coresponding to the years from 1982 to 1994. There were 42 cases of anorectal anomalies with a greater occurrence in the years 1991 (5 cases = 11.90 %) and 1992 (6 cases = 14.28 %). The male sex was the most affected (76.19 %), and the most frequent anomalies were of the “high type” (35.72 %), while in the female sex were of the “low type” (19.05 %). The presence of fistulas was found in 19 cases (43.23 %), 11 in the male sex and 8 in the female sex. Furthermore, in 83.33 % of the patients the anorectal anomalies were associated with other malformations, being the urogenital system the most affected, with 27 cases.
