Item type: Item , Distribución de velocidades originadas por el cambio de textura rugoso - liso en canales con escurrimiento supercrítico(1986) R. Fuentes; Julián Aguirre; Isabel Florez; Maritza RamírezAn experimental study has been achieved on the supercritical flow past a step change of boeoeon roughness: rough to smooth. The analysis of experimental data has allowed for the introduction of two dimensionless parameters; they define the evolution of the velocity profile past the change of roughness.Item type: Item , Influencia de la rugosidad relativa y la densidad relativa de las partículas sobre la velocidad crítica de sedimentos diseminados(1987) Julián Aguirre; María Luisa Olivero; R. FuentesFor the threshold of motion of individual particles disseminated over a compact bed of sediment an experimental study has been archived. The eventual influence of relative roughness, density of individual particles and ratio of diameters of individual particles and those of the compact bed on the critical velocity have been studied. The results exhibits no influence of density ratio and a little influence of diameter ratio. The relative roughness of the compact bed shows a little and slow influence if is it larger than 2. For little values of the relative roughness, its influence is strong.Item type: Item , Una fórmula para la fricción en escurrimientos macrorugosos a superficie libre(1986) Julián Aguirre; María Luisa Olivero; R. FuentesTaking into account the wakes past the elements, a model has been developed in order to extend the logarithmic law to the calculation of friction factors in the case of large roughness flow in open channels. The model postulates a relationship between the thickness of the wake and the height of the roughness elements; this conjecture has been ckecked successfully through adequate experimental data. The relationship contains a coefficient s associated to the wakes. This coefficient has been measured for some regular shapes of roughness elements and also for some natural sediments.
