    Impacto de la enfermedad de Fournier en pacientes del Hospital Clínico Viedma durante enero del 2008 a marzo del 2013

    espanolLa gangrena de Fournier es una fascitis necrotizante subcutanea, fulminante y rapidamente progresiva de origen polimicrobiano que afecta principalmente la zona genital, perineal y pared anterior del abdomen a traves de la fascia de Colles y la fascia de Scarpa. En el presente trabajo, se presenta 17 casos de pacientes entre 35 a 80 anos con diagnostico de Gangrena de Fournier, detectados en el Hospital Clinico Viedma, de enero 2008 a marzo del 2013. El estudio que se realizo es de tipo descriptivo, de corte transversal y retrospectivo. Entre los resultados se identifico que el grupo etario mas afectado corresponden a pacientes entre 46 a 56 anos, siendo el 47% varones y con ocupacion albaniles; el factor predisponente de mayor importancia corresponde al consumo de alcohol y la tasa de mortalidad encontrada fue del 35%. La importancia de presentar estos casos radica en que un diagnostico temprano posibilita la reduccion en la mortalidad y una mejor respuesta al tratamiento. EnglishFournier´s gangrene is a fulminating subcutaneous necrotizing fasciitis that has a polymicrobial origin that affects foremost genital area, perineum and the anterior wall of abdomen through Colles´s fascia and Scarpa´s fascia. In this work, it was taken into account 17 patients between 35 to 80 years old with Fournier´s gangrene diagnosed in the Clinico Viedma´s Hospital, in January 2008 to March 2013. The study type was descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional. Among the results it was identified that the most affected group age was between 46-56 years old, being 47% male with masons occupation; the most important predisposing factor corresponds to the consumption of alcohol and the mortality rate that it was founded is 35%. The importance to show these cases lies in that an early diagnosis makes possible a decrease in the mortality rate and show a better answer to the treatment.
