Brachylophora, a new brachypterous genus of Rhopalophorini (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae)
(Entomological Society of Brazil, 2011) Robin O. S. Clarke
Brachylophora, a new brachypterous genus of Rhopalophorini (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae). Brachylophora auricollis (Bruch, 1918) comb. nov. = Pasiphyle auricollis Bruch, 1918, originally described from Argentina (Salta), is redescribed and illustrated. Although with reduced elytra, the genus is transferred from Rhinotragini to Rhopalophorini based on the following characters: eyes well separated in both sexes, frons between eyes depressed and lacking frontal suture; pro-, meso-, and metasternum planar; mesothorax parallel-sided, not at all declivous before mesosternal process; metasternum large, together with mesosternum twice length of prosternum, metepisternum very wide, entire suture separating it from metasternum clearly visible when viewed from below; female ovipositor shortened with short cylindrical styles; and, more generally, structural features of hind legs, and surface ornamentation. Habitus similar to Coremia group. Bolivian specimens were netted as they visited flowers of Croton sp. (Euphorbiaceae).

Contribuição para o estudo dos Rhinotragini (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae). II. Revisão de Ommata White, 1855
(University of São Paulo, 2010) Antonio Santos‐Silva; Ubirajara R. Martins; Robin O. S. Clarke
O gênero Ommata é revisto e dividido em quatro gêneros: Ommata sensu strictu, Acatainga gen. nov. (espécie-tipo Odontocera (?) maia Newman, 1841), Etimasu gen. nov. (espécie-tipo Ommata cosmipes Peñaherrera-Leiva & Tavakilian, 2003) e Pyrpotyra gen. nov. (espécie-tipo Ommata (Ommata) paradisiaca Tippmann, 1953). São descritas cinco espécies novas provenientes do Brasil e Bolívia: Ommata nigricollis (Brasil, Espírito Santo), O. andina (Bolívia), Pyrpotyra pytinga (Brasil, Pará), P. capixaba (Brasil, Espírito Santo) e P. paraensis (Brasil, Pará). As seguintes espécies são transferidas de Ommata para os novos gêneros, além das espécies-tipos: Acatinga boucheri (Tavakilian & Peñaherrera-Leiva, 2005), comb. nov.; A. gallardi (Peñaherrera-Leiva & Tavakilian, 2004), comb. nov.; A. quinquemaculata (Zajciw, 1966), comb. nov.; Pyrpotyra albitarsis (Galileo & Martins, 2010), comb. nov.

Contribution towards the knowledge of Rhinotragini (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae). V. Reconsideration of Rhopalessa rubroscutellaris (Tippmann, 1960)
(University of São Paulo, 2012) Robin O. S. Clarke; Ubirajara R. Martins; Antonio Santos‐Silva
Corrections to the revision of Rhopalessa Bates, 1873 (Clarke et al. 2011), with the transfer of two species to a new genus, Rashelapso: R. durantoni (Peñaherrera-Leiva & Tavakilian, 2004) comb. nov., and R. schmidi sp. nov. (previously considered to be conspecific with Ommata (Rhopalessa) rubroscutellaris Tippmann, 1960 by the authors). Ommata (Rhopalessa) rubroscutellaris is now considered a junior synonym of Laedorcari fulvicollis (Lacordaire, 1868).

have recorded the Western Hemisphere tribe Hemilophini Thomson, 1868 from Kansas State, USA to Argentina. However, it is primarily a Neotropical tribe: three genera (five species) recorded from the USA (Kansas, South Carolina to Florida), 16 genera (36 species) from Mexico, 45 genera (110 species) from Central America, five genera (23 species) from the Caribbean, and 99 genera (333 species) from South America (of which eigth genera and 17 species have been recorded from Uruguay and Argentina, and none from Chile).

New and newly illustrated Gnomidolon Thomson (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Hexoplonini) from Bolivia
(Entomological Society of Brazil, 2007) Robin O. S. Clarke
Three new species of Gnomidolon Thomson, 1864 (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Hexoplonini) from Bolivia are described and illustrated, and G. proseni Martins, 1962 is redefined. Photographs of G. proseni and four other Bolivian species of this genus are provided: G. bonsae Martins, 1967, G. nanum Martins, 1962, G. musivum (Erichson, 1847), and both pale and dark forms of G. wappesi Martins, 2006.

Oxylopsebus brachypterus: a new genus and species of Oxycoleini (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Cerambycinae) from Bolivia
(University of São Paulo, 2008) Robin O. S. Clarke
Oxylopsebus brachypterus new genus and species from humid tropical forest, Department of Santa Cruz, Bolivia is described and illustrated. Although with reduced elytra, the genus is placed in Oxycoleini based on the following characters: female urosternites modified, the first as long as the second to fourth together, the second with a brush for covering the eggs with detritus after being laid; the male with six visible urosternites, the first twice as long as the second; eyes with superior lobes; prothorax divergent behind, disc of pronotum with calli; procoxal cavities closed behind. Oxylopsebus gen. nov. would seem to fall between the Oxycoleini and Psebiini and be less closely related to the Obriini and Luscosmodicini, the four tribes in which the females have modified urosternites (the " Obriini group" sensu Martins, 2003). All the specimens were netted as they visited flowers of the vine Serjania lethalis (Sapindaceae).

Studies of Horned Curassow Pauxi unicornis in Bolivia
(Cambridge University Press, 1997) Guy Cox; Jane M. Read; Robin O. S. Clarke; V. S. Easty
Observations of the Horned Curassow Pauxi unicomis in Amboro National Park, depto. Santa Cruz, Bolivia, allowed us to assess the status of a species whose habits in the wild were virtually unknown. Vocalizations, including call notes and the deep booming song, are described. Density was estimated by counting booming birds in the breeding season using a three-hide triangulation method. The study showed birds to be aggregated in one part of the study area. A nest of was found and the incubating female was observed for nine days: the individual incubated alone, left the nest at night, and returned at first light.
