    En este módulo de SIG y geotelemática abordaremos en primer lugar el estudio del concepto de sistema de información geográfica mediante las preguntas ¿“qué son los SIG "? y ¿“qué no son"? En la primera parte desglosaremos el término SIG en su mínima expresión para definir los conceptos de sistema de información e información geográfica, y analizaremos las diferentes tecnologías que trabajan en el entorno del SIG para diferenciar las que se consideran parte del SIG de las que no. Para completar esta primera parte, mostraremos algunos ejemplos prácticos de aplicaciones SIG. El listado de los campos en los cuales pueden aplicarse los SIG es enorme. Conocer algunos de éstos puede ser el punto de partida para que investiguéis los diferentes ejemplos que son interesantes y relevantes para vosotros. | In this GIS and geotelematics module, we will first approach the study of the concept of geographic information system through the questions "what are GIS"? And "what are they not"? In the first part we will break down the term GIS in its simplest form to define the concepts of information system and geographic information, and we will analyze the different technologies that work in the GIS environment. to differentiate those that are considered part of the GIS from those that are not. To complete this first part, we will show some practical examples of GIS applications. The list of fields in which GIS can be applied is enormous. Knowing some of these can be the starting point for you to investigate the different examples that are interesting and relevant to you.
