    (2025) Yiliam Fonseca-Bodaño; Domingo Curbeira-Hernández; Rosangela Caicedo-Quiroz; Dámasa Irene López Santa-Cruz
Comprehensive training in podiatry is key to effectively connecting theory with clinical practice, ensuring a complete and up-to-date approach to foot care. This article examines how structured education facilitates the development of both theoretical and practical skills in podiatry students and professionals, preparing them to successfully face diverse clinical challenges. The importance of integrating scientific knowledge with real-life clinical experiences is highlighted, with special emphasis on diagnostic techniques, treatments, and podiatric health promotion. Comprehensive training promotes the acquisition of technical skills, critical thinking, and ethical attitudes fundamental to patient-centered care. The results of this review indicate that a balanced pedagogical approach significantly improves professional preparation and the quality of podiatric services. The benefits of this integration, such as improved clinical decision-making and professional autonomy, are also discussed, along with challenges such as the constant need for curriculum updating, student demotivation, and the incorporation of innovative methodologies. In conclusion, comprehensive training represents an essential bridge that guarantees effective, humane, and ethical clinical practice, contributing to the professionalization and consolidation of podiatry as a fundamental branch of healthcare.
