    SUMMARY Objective: Know the major fears and experiences of parents of preterm infants for their training. Patients and methods: Know the major fears and experiences of parents of preterm infants to your training are invited to parents of preterm infants in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, that would have a minimum of 21 days hospitalization, those interviewed. Results: The main complaint by the parents was an insufficient preparation and lack of some instructions before discharge. They said that the preparation received focused only on general neonatal care. The most frequent problems faced at home were those related to feeding issues, drugs administration and doses, and special care; like home oxygen therapy. The parents suggest a checklist with all the important topics regarding the care of the neonate at home, a 24 hour telephone line for questions, and psychology support. Conclusions: The opinion gathered was that parents receive a perceived insufficient training for this reason it is appropriate that during the internment is register the concerns of the parents to achieve a better training.

    The echocardiographic screening for PDA in extreme preterm newborns reduces the time to detect it, and allow to give less aggressive treatment. We do not recommend their use in moderate o late preterm newborn.
