Item type: Item , Escherichia coli agente etiológico frecuente en infecciones urinarias recurrentes en embarazadas de procedencia urbana, Valera-Trujillo – Venezuela(2013) V Judith Rojas; Rosa Bolaños; Yoalis RivasThe urinary tract infections are ailments that cause multiple pathologies being the uterine contractions, ovular membranes rupture and early cervical dilation before the week 37 of pregnancy, the most common conditions, leading to intraamniotic infection, fetal infestation, uterine distension and stress. The aim of this study is to establish the bacteria that cause the recurrent urinary infections to patients of urban origin between the 1st and 3er pregnancy quarter who attend the high risk obstetrical consultation at Hospital Universitario “Dr. Pedro Emilio Carrillo” Valera, Trujillo State, between July 2009 and June 2010. A descriptive, documental and intentional survey was conducted with 115 patient, revealing urinary infection frequency during pregnancy of three episodes, counting for 62.61%. Another important infections are urinary and vaginal with 71.30%. The microorganism isolated was Escherichia coli being the 3er quarter of pregnancy dominated by this kind of infections. Knowing the causing agent, proper, opportune and efficient pharmacologic treatments alongside hygienic-dietetic measures may be established in order to avoid maternal-fetal complications achieving strategies to improve the life quality dismissing the hospital stays of the patients.
