Item type: Item , Estudio psicosocial de la indigencia en Mérida(2007) Yariani Barreat MonteroEl presente estudio tiene como objetivo conocer la problematica psicosocial y la calidad de vida del indigente. La muestra estuvo conformada por 89 indigentes que circundan por la ciudad de Merida a quienes se les aplico la entrevista psicologica, como instrumento de recoleccion de datos. Fundamentalmente, los resultados demostraron que los grupos indigentes en nuestra ciudad, tienen una edad promedio de 40 anos, son en su mayoria solteros, pertenecen al sexo masculino, estan desempleados y poseen un nivel educativo equivalente a la primaria. Proceden de hogares violentos y desintegrados, tienen un bajo nivel de salud, predominando las conductas adictivas de alcoholismo y consumo de otras drogas. El grupo reflejo un nivel medio de satisfaccion y felicidad, aunque la mayoria catalogo su condicion negativamente, enfatizando sentimientos de tristeza y ansiedad. La depresion y disfuncion social fueron reportados en menor escala. El desempleo resulto ser una variable asociada a la condicion de indigencia. Finalmente, se ofrece una reflexion sobre la necesidad que existe de generar una respuesta social que considere factores de proteccion, inclusion, servicios especificos de rehabilitacion y la formulacion y desarrollo de politicas dirigidas a intervenir este problema.Item type: Item , Intereses por carreras que ofrece la Universidad de Los Andes: análisis psicométrico preliminar del inventario de intereses profesionales (InInPro).(2012) Silvana D ́Anello Koch; Ana K. D'Orazio; Alimar Benítez; Gregorio Escalante; Yariani Barreat MonteroEl multi-inventario InInPro fue disenado para evaluar intereses por 45 carreras que ofrece la Universidad de Los Andes (Merida, Venezuela). Consta de 175 items contentivos de actividades inherentes a dichas carreras y es para autoaplicacion en forma individual o colectiva. El presente articulo reporta los analisis psicometricos preliminares indicadores de indices de confiabilidad (alfa de Cronbach = .69-.92) y pruebas de validez de constructo. Se requieren estudios adicionales que permitan determinar la validez predictiva del InInpro, asi como su validez convergente.Item type: Item , LA RELACIÓN MÉDICO-PACIENTE Y SU INFLUENCIA EN LA ADHERENCIA AL TRAMIENTO MÉDICO(2009) Silvana D ́Anello Koch; Yariani Barreat Montero; Gregorio Escalante; Ana K. D'Orazio; Alimar BenítezThe present study examined the influence of demographic characteristics, relational style and patient satisfaction on adherence to treatment. The sample was 37 physicians and their patients (N = 141): 30 diabetics, 49 with cardiovascular problems, 18 with cancer, 32 with respiratory illness and 12 with gastro-intestinal diseases. IWe evaluated, from the perspective of the doctor and patient, the adherence and relational style. Patients also evaluated satisfaction with medical treatment. We did not find any effect of physician’s age and gender, nor the number of hours of work per week, average time spent in consultation and specialty on both adherence measures. Two regression analysis were conducted. In the first one, adherence from the perspective of the patient was used as the dependent variable, resulting the style relational perceived by the patient as the sole predictor (R2 =.15). In the second analysis, the dependent variable was adherence determined by the physician. In this case the significant predictors were style relational perceived by the patient and patient satisfaction with medical care (R2 =.24). It was concluded that the doctor-patient relationship seen from the perspective of the patient, and satisfaction with medical care, variables that affect adherence to medical treatment.Item type: Item , Recuento censal nocturno de las personas de la calle que circundan por las parroquias El Llano y Sagrario de la ciudad de Mérida(2014) Yariani Barreat MonteroThe a im of t his s tudy was to de scribe psychosocial c onditions a nd quality of life in homeless p eople a round El Llano and S agrario c ounties i n M erida c ity. S tructured i nterviews a nd observational t echniques were a pplied in order to register 129 homeless people that were living on streets, most of them were men, ages between 18 and 82 years old, Venezuelan, singles, without children, and with elementary and high school educational level. Some of them practice informal jobs but others do not have any job. Almost half of them reported health problems without specific treatment. An important number of persons (41. 9%) left their homes because family problems, followed by drugs and/or alcohol abuse. It was shown the urgent requirement of policies formulation in order to solve this problem
