Modelado Energético y Exergético para el Estudio del Ciclo Brayton
(2013) Carlos Gilberto Villamar Linares; Rafael José Santos Luque; Alirio Rondón; Yoel Valera
In this work is presented a model for determining the main parameters of the Brayton cycle, and perform energy and exergy analysis. The model uses a calculation method based on thermodynamic equations, specifically, conservation of mass, First and Second Law of Thermodynamics, which can determine the quantity, quality and energy degradation during processing. It is considered that the working fluid behaves as an ideal gas and that their composition and their properties such as specific heat, which are a function of temperature and composition, change throughout the cycle due to the combustion process. From the results it can be concluded that the studied fuel that produces more power, less fuel consumption and enables higher exergetic efficiency, is methane, getting with this a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. Comparing the behavior of air Brayton cycle with the cycle that uses various fuels, we can see that the operating parameters have a similar behavior, the conclusion is that the assumption made in the initial studies of the thermodynamics of Brayton cycle operates only air with constant specific heats and only with heat transfer processes without combustion, is valid, the advantage of using this assumption greatly simplifies the analysis of the cycle in the early involvement of Thermodynamics, which allows to focus on basic operation with a considerable reduction in the complexity of the calculations.
