dc.description.abstractThis paper presents a pedagogical proposal based on the written understanding approach to assist the process of teaching learning of the French language in the students of the Universidad de Los Andes in the University of The Andes, “Nucleo Rafael Rangel”, Trujillo State. This proposal is based on the papers about intercomprehension carried out in Europe and in Latin America taking Chile and Argentina as reference. The main purpose is taking advantage of all the benefits of intercomprehension in the learning of French, based on the knowledge acquired in parallel of the English language having a population of speakers of Spanish as mother tongue. The material consists of a set of 10 texts that were selected from a needs analysis, written in French and translated into English and vice versa, with topics of interest for the population of French/English level II students. It’s expected not only to produce a useful work for the people described above but also to encourage future grade students to experiment in this unexplored field of research in our country
