Estimación de área foliar en plántulas de caoba (Swietenia macrophylla King) en condiciones de vivero a partir de las medidas lineales
Abstract
Determined non-destructive methods to estimate the area of leaflets in seedlings of mahogany, Swietenia macrophylla
King in the early stages of development, using the linear measures of the leaflets, on samples of monthly frequency,
until their permanence in the nursery. The first sampling was at 30 days of age of the plants, and from this age, sampling
frequency monthly, ensuring leaflets of different ages and sizes. In total, four samplings were made and samples 200
randomized of leaflets, at the rate of 50 leaflets by sampling. The leaflets were placed on graph, measuring long paper
(L) and larger width (A) leaf blade, along with the actual millimeter area of each leaflet. With the actual area and long
values (L), width (A), long (L2), width (A2) squared square, long by wide (L*A) and the length/width ratio (L/A), was
made the correlation and regression analysis. Made simple with each variable regression and regression Stepwise until
you find in all cases, the equation of higher adjustment (highestr and R2). In the simple regressions were relations
of moderate to strong between the variables, emphasizing regression of the leaf surface with the product of length
by width of leaflets (L*A), being statistically significant (P > 0,0001) and high determination coefficient (R2 = 0,98).
The Stepwise regression to select the variable L*A (P > 0,0001) and width (A) leaflet, with P = 0,0142 (R2 = 0,98).
