La conceptualización y el uso de metodologías para medir el nivel de sostenibilidad humana

Abstract

Every day increases the use of the term sustainable or sustainable development when we talk about social, economic and environmental development, and alludes to the ecological crisis. This international convergence has different interpretations, approaches and methodologies, and this has led to a controvesy which has hampered the operational defi nition of sustainability However, have been disseminated and applied indicators to know local realities and the relationships between different areas and most importantly, set the aspects on which we must infl uence to make positive progress in this process. This circumstance has stimulated raise a very pragmatic goal is to learn about sustainability with mountain cities holding the current develoment model. An investigation was made a system of data, variables, indicators and indces and applied in a type city as Trujillo in Venezuela was developed for this. The article below is form part of this research, specifi cally as regards the documentary the conceptualization and urban sustainability, interpretation review the relationship between the unsustainability and urban vulnerability, approaches and quantifi cation of sustainble development.
