This article presents fragments of the history of Ancient Nikonion, a Greek city on the northern coast of the Black Sea, one of the most important in the lower reaches of the Tyras (Dniester) River. The data presented on Nikonion are the result of many years of excavations at Nikonion by Ukrainian archaeologists from the Odesa Archaeological Museum and Polish archaeologists from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń as well as from the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology, Polish Academy of Sciences.
