| dc.description.abstract | This article presents the most important results of a study made in the Trujillo State, with the purpose of determining the use of the Internet in the foreign languages teaching. Numerous authors among them, LANCIEN (97), GOVANTES (2002), LOISEAU and ROCH (2002) have considered the problematic of the use of these technologies and their impact in the classroom. The recent appearance and the fast evolution of these technologies make difficult their study and explain the difficulties of both teachers and students to approach them and to manipulate them for the best educative benefit. The conducted investigation was of descriptive character, with a no experimental design. It was applied a questionnaire of 15 questions closed to 23 professors of foreign languages, within 10 institutes, as much public and private. The results reflect the little use of the Technologies of the Information and the Communication (TICs), specifically the Internet, for the teaching of foreign languages. Also, it was stated that most of the teachers have neither formation nor information concerning the application of the Tics in the language teaching. It is recommended to develop programs to update the teachers’ formation, to improve the educational programs of formation in the Universities as well as to increase the equipment of the educative institutes in the region. | |
