La formación inicial de docentes en Venezuela. Una mirada retrospectiva desde 1870 hasta 1999
Abstract
This study focus on a retrospective look to initial teacher training in Venezuela from 1870 to 1999, inorder to characterize its evolution and explain the rationale behind it. For this purpose, a
documentary research was conducted, on the extend of the genealogy of teacher initial training,
developed through a critical - refl ective analysis of literature and a variety of offi cial documents
related to initial teacher training. Three periods were identifi ed, in which the occurrence of events
and phenomena are milestones in the evolution of initial teacher training in Venezuela, obtaining a
characterization that fosters the convergence of signifi cant historical events.
