Methods: a sample of 30 citizens from Santo Domingo, Merida state, was selected. They were applied a WHO oral health survey. That survey included two parts: general data (e.g., name, date of bird, gender, age), and specific data (e.g., state of patient´s teeth, necessary treatment and necessity for a prosthesis). Results: females showed the highest prosthetic necessity (37%) when compared to male (30%); prosthetic needs were observed in 67% of the sample.
