Consequently, the study of printed works, the demand for a systematic analysis on the different forms of production, the diffusion and the destination of the copies; Emphasizing the significant role that travel has played since the 15th century. Therefore, for the Spanish-American context, a critical double reading is imperative: the value of the European book and the importance of the displacements that make its circulation possible during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
