This reality has met severely threatened by the increasing practices desarrollistas not planned. So much this way, that the biological diversity shows highly worrying indexes of decrease, managing to submit inclusive to the extinction many species of flora and fauna, is leaving some others in situation of threat or danger of disappearance. In this respect, the investigation on the endemic tuna species of red flower (Opuntia bisetosa pittier) had as aim developed a strategy of conservation in situ. The implementation of the strategy of conservation I carry out, across a series of stages as: awareness of the community, technical valuation of the area of study, identification of the endemic species, tabulation and analysis of the inventory, recovery of the area delimited for the conservation in situ of the species and plantation of the selected area. The same one rested on participative, theoretical and empirical methods to facilitate his effective application and to be in agreement with the aims of the National Strategy for the Biological Diversity of Venezuela. As results, there can be mentioned the preliminary organization of an environmental commission, workshops on conservation of the biological diversity, identification of the number of individuals and the plantation of species under the methodology of the analogous foresteria, managing as conclusion, the empoderamiento of the population with relevant information about the conservation of the biodiversityesThreatened speciesGeographyEndemismTunaBiodiversityConservation statusFaunaIn situ conservationPopulationForestryEstrategia de conservación in situ de la Tuna de Flor Roja (Opuntia bisetosa pittier) especie endémica del Monumento Loma el León, parroquia Juan de Villegas, estado Larabook-chapter
