The Official Gazette of the Federation, the economic censuses, the national statistical directory of economic units (DENUE) of INEGI and reports from the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA) were made based on a historical, statistical and geographic research. The results show that SME’s in the sector, particularly micro-units, are potential poles of regional development, so it is proposed to build a public policy agenda that addresses the most vulnerable companies but whose benefits would have a direct impact in the national economy.esAutomotive industryDirectoryWelfare economicsMacroEconomyRegional scienceOrder (exchange)Political sciencePublic policyOfficial statisticsEstado y sector automotriz: la configuración de la estructura empresarial.
