(Euphorbiaceae) was studied. The antibacterial activity was determined by the diffusion method in agar against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. The methanolic extract presented activity against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212. On the other hand the dichloromethane extract presented good hypoglycemic activity at 100 mg/kg and 300 mg/kg doses. In agreement to the consulted literature it is the first time that brings the biological activity for this vegetable species.esPhyllanthusEuphorbiaceaeTraditional medicineEnterococcus faecalisAntibacterial activityStaphylococcus aureusMaceration (sewage)BacteriaAgarBiologyActividad antibacteriana e hipoglicemiante de los extractos crudos del Phyllanthus Salviaefolius H.B.K.
