This is a descriptive cross-sectional research that aims to determine the cellular changes in the oral mucosa of consumers of chimo. Material and Methods: The study sample consisted of 120 patients consumers of chimo habitants of the Paramo Merideno, to which it took them a cytological sample by the method of scraping for microscopic study, achieving to determine the cytological changes present in the oral mucosa. Results: it was noted that the cellular component in the cytological specimens, affected were found in different levels, and according to the amount consumed and time consuming.
