In that sense, authors like Eugene Nida, Peter Newmark, Roger T. Bell, Mildred Larson and others have developed theories aimed at analysing and synthesising this complex phenomenon. Initially, translation was focused on conveying the message of a written text into another language. However, the authors, mentioned above, considered that linguistic elements were not enough to do this task. Therefore they began to study extra-linguistic elements such as: the time, the place and the audience a text was written for to develop a better translation. Moreover, authors like: Slama Cazacu and Teun A Van Djik (Cognitivism followers) believe that linguistic and extralinguistic elements are part of the context which is extremely necessary to comprehend language. The present work is based on this theoretical perspective for translating news in the web page of the Bolivian Agency of News (ABI). La traducción se presenta a lo largo de la historia como una herramienta para superar brechas comunicativas. En ese sentido, autores como Eugene Nida, Peter Newmark, Roger . Bell, Mildred Larson y otros han desarrollado teorías cuyo propósito era analizar y sintetizar este fenómeno complejo. Inicialmente, la traducción estaba enfocada en traducir el mensaje de un texto escrito a otra lengua. Sin embargo. los autores mencionados previamente consideraban que los elementos lingüísticos no eran suficientes al realizar esta tarea. Por lo tanto, ellos comenzaron a estudiar elementos extralingüísticos como ser el tiempo, el lugar y la audiencia a la cual el texto estaba dirigido para desarrollar una mejor traducción, Adicionalmente, autores como Slama Cazacu y Teum Van Djik (cognitivistas) creen que los elementos lingüísticos y extralingüísticos son parte del contexto, el cual es extremadamente importante para entender la lengua.
