This map was created from the overlay of this variables being associated with different ranges of slopes in the area, obtaining sectors that are represented by instability percentages. It is also important to take into account the continuous urban expansion that in the last 40 years has been affecting Merida City, without any kind of control. Furthermore, the sector occupied by La Joya-San Jacinto is considered a “possible expansion zone” (POU, 1992), therefore this paper tries to help those organizations making urbas plans and civil structures in that area to avoid possible natural disaster.esArchaeologyGeographyGeologyarticle
