Ilse Eliana Franco AguileraIlse Eliana Franco Aguilera2026-03-222026-03-22202210.33789/enlace.21.1.105https://doi.org/10.33789/enlace.21.1.105https://andeanlibrary.org/handle/123456789/71602The objective of this article is to identify the current situation in research and intellectual production of postgraduate students of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences of the Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University, with the purpose of once the situation is known, to be able to propose a pedagogical strategy to strengthen the academic training of students in the area of research and intellectual production. The research was propositional, with a cross-sectional cohort and a non-experimental design, for which it was necessary to apply a mixed approach which came from the application of quantitative and qualitative techniques. The type of sampling used was probabilistic, where the universe of the population was 379 students and the sample was delimited by 40 postgraduate students from the different master's programs offered by the postgraduate unit during the 2009-2019 administration. the frequency of participation in research work 37.5% have never participated in a research in the last 5 years, 30% sometimes, 27.5% frequently and 5% always. Upon publication of their research in their area in research journals 57.5% never publish, 25% sometimes, 15% frequently and 2.5% always.
