The aim of this study was to report the lingual FL clinical finding. A 49 years old female patient was referred to the Oral Medicine Service of Autonomous Institute Univertitary Hospital of Los Andes for a tongue swelling, with high blood pressure and diabetes mellitus as a personal history. Intraoral clinical examination allows observing an exophytic lesion, rounded, located in the lateral border of the tongue, it was about 1 cm in diameter, similar to the lingual mucosa with slightly yellowish surface, sessile base, firm consistency to palpation, with short episodes of pain at food contact and injuries, it presented no bleeding and had 1 year of evolution. The therapeutic approach consisted in the surgical removal and histopathological analysis of the sample, which revealed the presence of adipose tissue divided into lobules by fibrous septa which are characteristics of this entity. FL should be considered as a presumptive diagnoses option of soft tissue injuries, even though it may appear in places where there are not structurally fatty tissue deposits.esMedicineTongueLipomaPalpationOral cavityEtiologyPhysical examinationSoft tissueSurgeryAnatomyFibrolipoma lingual: Reporte de un caso y revisión de la literaturaarticle
