Image and writing: two communicative aspects absent in the scholar culture Abstract The aim of this paper is to explore the domain of the visual culture in thestudent everyday life and how the school seems to omit it in its practices;also, the interpretative skill of the children in front of the image and theirappreciations with respect to the writing activities made in their scholar lifeare examined. This work serves as a starting point to connecttwo fundamental communicative aspects for the current student: Thewriting expression and the presence of the visual culture.Item type: Item , Libros Pop Up en el aula de clase: palabras e imágenes en movimiento.(2016) Alexandra AlbaThe visual culture establishes, in the contemporary period, the axis from which the communication is enabled between the new generations, dominating not only public spaces but also private spaces as well. Then, it is necessary to involve the school in the activation of practices and strategies who allow the analysis of visual information that dominates the daily life of students and linking with an essential ability in the academic performance such as the writing. From the stated before, an intervention proposal was design with a methodological base supported in the qualitative paradigm and framed in to research – action method, through which a series of strategies that focused on the image were made and always on relation to the production of writing texts, specifically in the production of pop up books in the classroom. The fundamental purpose was to develop in 5th grade elementary school students from the Escuela Bolivariana Villafane (San Cristobal municipality, Tachira) written communication skills through the use of the image. It was evaluated through the analysis of texts produced by students in approached and from notes taken by the teacher during work sessions. When the obtain results were analyzed was observed in the students the increment of his writing communication skills, the activation of creative thinking to produce his own ideas and integrate to the texts and also was achieved incorporate the development of mobile mechanisms who belong to paper engineering to express meanings present in written texts.
