Objective: To describe the dental treatment of a patient with this syndrome and the importance of preventive dentistry. Case report: Female patient, 6 years old with Angelman Syndrome, attended the Health Care Center of the Universidad de los Andes, Chile in 2020. She received dental care in an isolation box and in a playroom, and an anticipatory panel was sent to the parents before the dental appointment. We progressively adapted her behavior to dental care in the dental chair by providing protective stabilization. Clinical examination was performed with dental bite block and atraumatic restorative treatment of caries in primary molars. The patient complies with check-ups every 2 months, in which she receives preventive treatment and dental health reinforcement. It is important to mention that the mother signed informed consent, authorizing dental care for the patient and the use of information for academic subjects. Clinical relevance: Patients who are often neglected or have less access to dental care due to the difficulty of dental management. For this reason, regular dental check-ups and preventive treatment are very important. Conclusion: The patient must be treated in a comprehensive and individualized way, knowing the patient well, their pathology and adapting to their needs.Item type: Item , ['Dental Care in a girl with Angelman Syndrome', 'Atención odontológica en una niña con Síndrome de Angelman', 'Atendimento odontológico em uma menina com síndrome de Angelman'](2021) Magdalena Rodriguez Verdugo; María José Monsalva Cerda; Andrea Ormeño QuintanaItem type: Item , [' Play room as a complement to pediatric dentistry care in patients with disabilities. Reporte de casos.(2021) María José Monsalva Cerda; Magdalena Rodriguez Verdugo; Andrea Ormeño QuintanaIntroduction: The playroom is an educational space that uses tools to facilitate the acceptance of the child and their parents before the dental chair. It is part of the work to promote the oral health of children and adolescents. Objective: To describe the use of the play room as a complement to pediatric dentistry care in patients with disabilities. Method: 9 patients were treated in the program of Attention to patients with of Andes University on 2019 between the ages of 3 to 9 years. The patients were included in strategies to motivate, relax and adapt them, performing clinical examination and conventional care in the dental chair. Transitional elements, toy dental instruments, different textures and an anticipatory panel were used to demonstrate the stages of dental care. Results: Clinical examination was carried out. The use of transitional element modeling turned out to be entertaining, and effective in showing the use of materials that would be used in the patient's mouth on the dental chair. Discussion: Patients with disabilities present multiple characteristics, therefore the therapeutic approach must be individualized. The use of the play room facilitates the processes of integration and transfer of the pediatric patient to a new environment, through communication and affective teaching based on educational games. Conclusion: We must plan care according to the individual requirements of each patient to achieve a pleasant conventional dental care. The use of the playroom complements the traditional management techniques.
