Programa "Leo y Aprendo" en la comprensión lectora en estudiantes de una institución educativa pública

Abstract
El conocimiento humano se plasma en textos desde la invención de la escritura; por tanto, comprender lo que se lee es crucial para el aprendizaje y desarrollo. Tras evidenciar, en una institución educativa pública, que la comprensión lectora en sus estudiantes no estaba bien desarrollada, el estudio aplicó el programa "Leo y Aprendo" para mejorarla. La investigación fue tipo aplicada, de nivel descriptivo - explicativo, con diseño experimental. La intervención se aplicó al grupo experimental de 30 alumnas, mientras que el grupo sin intervención (control), también de 30, no se aplicó la intervención. El pretest mostró que la comprensión lectora, del grupo con y sin intervención presentaron un nivel "Inicial". Empero, en el postest, el grupo intervenido mejoró a "Satisfactorio", mientras que el grupo sin intervención quedó en el nivel "Inicial". La prueba U de Mann-Whitney señaló que el programa influyó significativamente (sig.=0.05) en la mejora de la comprensión lectora.
Human knowledge is embodied in texts since the invention of writing; therefore, understanding what is read is crucial for learning and development. After evidencing, in a public educational institution, that the reading comprehension of its students was not well developed, the study applied the program "Leo y Aprendo" (I Read and Learn) to improve it. The research was applied, descriptive-explanatory, with an experimental design. The intervention was applied to the experimental group of 30 students, while the non-intervention (control) group, also of 30, did not apply the intervention. The pretest showed that the reading comprehension of the group with and without intervention presented an "Initial" level. However, in the posttest, the intervention group improved to "Satisfactory", while the non-intervention group remained at the "Initial" level. The Mann-Whitney U test showed that the program had a significant influence (sig.=0.05) on the improvement of reading comprehension.
