Abstract
Este estudio se centra en la aplicación de WhatsApp como recurso tecnológico crucial para el desarrollo cognitivo y el trabajo colaborativo durante la pandemia de COVID-19. La investigación, de naturaleza socioeducativa y etnográfica, tiene como objetivo evaluar la utilidad de WhatsApp en el trabajo colaborativo de estudiantes en diferentes contextos. La muestra comprende 2406 docentes de 611 instituciones educativas. Durante el año escolar 2020, WhatsApp desempeñó un papel destacado como soporte tecnológico esencial en el proceso educativo de los escolares. Se empleó el análisis documental, centrándose en los mensajes de WhatsApp, como método principal. Los resultados revelan que el trabajo colaborativo se destaca como una característica fundamental en el proceso formativo, facilitando la interactividad y la sinergia entre docentes y estudiantes. La conclusión principal es que, dadas las circunstancias de aprendizaje remoto y la limitación de recursos, WhatsApp se convirtió en el recurso óptimo para fomentar el trabajo colaborativo.
This study focuses on the application of WhatsApp as a crucial technological resource for cognitive development and collaborative work during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research, socio-educational and ethnographic in nature, aims to assess the usefulness of WhatsApp in collaborative work of students in different contexts. The sample comprises 2406 teachers from 611 educational institutions. During the 2020 school year, WhatsApp played a prominent role as an essential technological support in the educational process of schoolchildren. Documentary analysis, focusing on WhatsApp messages, was used as the main method. The results reveal that collaborative work stands out as a fundamental characteristic in the formative process, facilitating interactivity and synergy between teachers and students. The main conclusion is that, given the circumstances of remote learning and limited resources, WhatsApp became the optimal resource to foster collaborative work.
