Carga laboral y salud desde la percepción de la mujer indígena

Abstract

La situación laboral de la mujer en el medio rural presenta una gran inestabilidad por las circunstancias precarias en las que vive. En consecuencia, a las mujeres indígenas les resulta muy difícil escapar del ciclo de extrema pobreza, explotación y empleo mal pagado. La carga laboral es el conjunto de requerimientos psicofísicos a los que se ve sometido el individuo en su jornada laboral. Objetivo. Determinar la carga laboral y su relación con la condición de salud en mujeres indígenas de la comunidad de Yuracruz. Método. Se abordó un diseño de investigación cuantitativo con un alcance descriptivo, correlacional. La muestra fue conformada por 150 mujeres indígenas; como instrumento de recolección de datos se aplicó la encuesta sobre condiciones de trabajo, empleo y salud (ECTES) siendo el más usado en estudios de carácter laboral. Resultados. Según la percepción de las mujeres indígenas consideran a su condición de salud como regular o mala en función a la carga laboral que viven diariamente, con más del 50% de la población entre estas variables. En la obtención del chi- cuadrado, se evidencia el 0,8, es decir, existe una asociación significativa entre carga laboral y condición de salud de las mujeres de esta comunidad. Conclusiones. La carga laboral de las mujeres indígenas es elevada y está íntimamente relacionada con su estado de salud vulnerable, por lo tanto, es importante mencionar que las brechas existentes son invisibles y no reconocidas, por consiguiente, se debe hacer hincapié en mejorar sus condiciones de vida.

The employment situation of women in rural areas is highly unstable due to the precarious circumstances in which they live. As a result, it is very difficult for indigenous women to escape from the cycle of extreme poverty, exploitation and poorly paid employment. The workload is the set of psychophysical requirements to which the individual is subjected during the workday. Objective. To determine the workload and its relationship with the health condition of indigenous women in the community of Yuracruz. Method. A quantitative research design with a descriptive, correlational scope was used. The sample consisted of 150 indigenous women; the survey on work, employment and health conditions (ECTES), the most widely used in labor studies, was used as an instrument for data collection. Results. According to the perception of the indigenous women, they consider their health condition as regular or bad according to the daily workload they experience, with more than 50% of the population among these variables. In obtaining the chi-square, 0.8 is evident, that is, there is a significant association between workload and health condition of the women of this community. Conclusions. The workload of indigenous women is high and is closely related to their vulnerable health status, therefore, it is important to mention that the existing gaps are invisible and unrecognized, therefore, emphasis should be placed on improving their living conditions.
