The report discursively describes the hard work of reforming and updating the curriculum of the University of the Andes Nursing Degree. It sets out the rules based on the Regulations for Undergraduate Studies, following the steps of the feasibility study; evaluation of the previous curriculum, students and employers; revision and updating of all curricular units; and according to the guidelines of the educational model of the ULA, of the National Council of Universities (CNU), of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and World Health Organization (WHO), among other policies for the country’s development and public health. We are aware of the responsibility that comes with the training of professionals and leaders in all fields of knowledge, who will take the reins of this nation or in which our graduates decide to work in the global village; that is why the opportunity is historic and we cannot leave it to improvisation, while taking into account human values as a clear instrument for the renewal and improvement of society and of man today.
