DISPOSICIÓN A SOBORNAR: INFLUENCIAS CONTEXTUALES E IMPLICACIONES COGNITIVAS DE LA CONDUCTA CORRUPTA

Abstract

Esta investigación estudió la disposición a ofrecer sobornos desde una perspectiva contextual, presentando a los participantes (N = 300, con una media de edad de 21.23 y una Desviación Estándar de 2.11), estudiantes universitarios de ambos sexos, residentes de dos ciudades bolivianas, un cuestionario de tipo Likert, reproduciendo diferentes contextos. Los resultados mostraron que la disposición a ofrecer sobornos se expresa con fuerzas diferentes según el contexto en que se presenta, influenciada principalmente por la necesidad de resultado. Asimismo, ciertas variables sociodemográficas (religión profesada y origen étnico) interactuaron con el contexto, adquiriendo características predictivas para dicha disposición. Se demostró también que las circunstancias que favorecen el soborno facilitan el desenganche momentáneo de las normas y principios que regulan la conducta moral. Finalmente, resultó evidente que poseer valores que orientan al individuo hacia la búsqueda del poder y placer constituyen también predictores del comportamiento corrupto.

This research studied the disposition to offer bribes from a contextual perspective, presenting to participants (N = 300, with an age mean of 21.23 and a SD of 2.11), university students of both sexes, residents of two Bolivian cities, a questionnaire Likert-type reproducing different scenarios. The results showed that the willingness to offer bribes is expressed with different forces depending on the context in which it is presented, mainly due to the need for outcome. In addition, certain socio-demographic variables (religion creed and ethnical origin) interacted with the context, gaining predictive value for that provision. Likewise, research showed that circumstances that favor bribery also facilitate the momentary disengagement of the norms and principles, which govern the moral behavior. Finally, it became evident that having values that guide individuals toward the pursuit of power and pleasure are predictors of corrupt behavior.
