The different vegetable formations of the Biosphere Reserve “Peninsula de Guanahacabibes” are described by applying floristic and physiognomic methods. Seven arboreal formations, that cover more than 80% of the studied territory, where prevail, the notofilous semideciduous middle forest, marshy forest and the mangrove; also four shrubby formations; three herbaceous and three complexes of vegetation. We can confirm that the edaphyc and hydrological conditions determine the floristic composition and the physiognomy of vegetation, being the main element, the statement of the rocky blooming. The map of vegetation formations is presented to scale 1:300 000, which has been elaborated with digital techniques. An evaluation of the conservation state is made, being analyzed the factors that have affected the different vegetable formations.
