Abstract
Los planes ocupacionales de pensiones son prestaciones que brindan las empresas a sus trabajadores en diversos países, complementan o adicionan las pensiones previsionales otorgadas por los sistemas de seguridad social, pueden ser obligatorios, voluntarios o cuasi-obligatorios. Son un pilar del sistema para la protección económica en la vejez propuesto por el Banco Mundial. En México, esta prestación, que es voluntaria, se encuentra principalmente en empresas trasnacionales y protege a un número reducido de trabajadores a pesar de que el modelo de pensiones previsionales del sistema de seguridad social más importante es de contribución definida puro y que no se vislumbran que se instauren mejoras en su diseño. En este documento se presenta una propuesta para empresas agrupadas en cámaras comerciales que reúnen ciertas características para que sea asequible a un mayor número de trabajadores y empresas y que adhiere aspectos que suman ventajas para ambas partes en el contexto mexicano.
