Medieval times means a transformation in the European world. One of them was the transformation of the Christian monasteries as keeper of culture in the western a bizantyne world. During late Middle Age, the universities were in charge of libraries and books production, conservation and trade. The last years of the period, books and libraries history were marked by an important fact the invention of printing.
