Hombres, caballos y mujeres: Aproximación analítica a los textos escolares sexistas

Abstract

El presente artículo pone de manifiesto la discriminación de la que son objeto las niñas en y desde los espacios educativos formales, discriminación que también se expresa en los textos escolares que no hacen más que perpetuar un sistema patriarcal y transmitir a cabalidad los mandatos de poder jerárquico, vertical y por lo tanto altamente violatorios de los derechos humanos; demuestra que la priorización iconográfica de los textos escolares es masculina, considerando a las mujeres incluso después de los caballos que reciben mayor protagonismo por ser parte de las hazañas de los próceres. Pone en evidencia los importantes avances de la legislación del Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia en cuanto al tema, pero también invita a reconocer que la normativa y la práctica aún están lejanas y que es innegablemente necesaria la emergencia de un nuevo orden para que la coeducación sea posible.

This article aims at stating the discrimination of girls within and from formal educational spaces. This discrimination is also expressed in scholarly textbooks and it allows perpetration of the patriarchal social system and transmission of orders of hierarchical and vertical power. It violates, therefore, the human rights. This article shows that the iconographic prioritization of the scholarly textbooks is mainly masculine and that it considers women after horses, which attract more attention because they are part of the great feats of the heroes. It shows important improvements on the laws of the Plurinational State of Bolivia regarding this topic, but it also brings to the recognition that laws and praxis are still far away from each other, and that there is an urgent need of a new order to make possible co-education.
